About Me

Australian artist Vincent Carrozza has aggressively attempted to avoid writing his own bio for nearly 30 years, finding the topic of discussing himself the least interesting thing a person could possibly do. He has preferred spending his time immersing himself in his pop culture artistic influences, such as books, movies, television, science and art, while occasionally pausing to create unique artwork for both clients, collectors of his work and his personal collection.

Working in various mediums such as acrylic, oil, pen, ink, pencil, digital and occasionally a combination of several of these at once, Vincent has exhibited in group shows at Gallery 1988 and Bottleneck Gallery, been published in books celebrating the horror movie classic “The Thing,” and “The Big Lebowski”, created a sold out Limited Edition print for MovieStop, and had work selected for use in Hollywood movie productions.

With his most recent works, Vincent is slowly creating a series of Modern Pop Culture Saints celebrating icons such as Jeff Goldblum, Keanu Reeves, Bill Murray and Nicolas Cage, with many more entries to come (if he doesn’t die of natural causes first).

Vincent’s broad stylistic influences range from the Old Masters (in whose style and techniques he was first taught to paint) to Ex Libris/Bookplate artists of the 19th and 20th century with their delicate and overly elaborate ornate designs, to sci-fi and fantasy artists such as Bruce Pennington, Tim White, Frank Frazetta and Michael Whelan who evoked entire stories in a single moment, and the iconic movie poster artists of old school Hollywood which captured the eye with bold simplicity (Saul Bass) or striking renderings that seemed as magical as the movies themselves (Drew Struzan).

Currently, Vincent is experimenting with releasing his back-catalog and new works as NFTs (non-fungible tokens). He’s not sure what NFTs are, how they work or where you put them, but believes they may be related to vaping or possibly electric cars somehow.
